January 21 - Moody Journey

This is perhaps one of the best skies I have had a chance to photograph. The sky was full of clouds and the sun was shining bright. Over the year I plan to try out different photography techniques. This is another HDR experiment. I'm not sure if I really like HDR or not. What are you thoughts on HDR? Good and bad welcome.

January 29 - Cheeky Fella

This little chap, got in my way while trying to take photos of the Grand Canyon a couple of years ago before I joined smugmug. I have a feeling he might appear again in my dailies this year as I have quite a few. Believe it or not, behind him is one of the greatest sights on earth. The grand canyon. But he is pretty amazing too.

I used one from my archives tonight because I was at the pub tonight saying goodbye to a friend who is going on mission to Africa for a year and I planned to take my camera, however although I got my camera ready I clearly forgot, so have little choice than to use this. Still one of my favourite pictures. On that note, Dave, have a great and safe time in Africa.

July 11- English Church

A 3 exposure HDR image. I'm not sure why the blue around the church changes colour. The sun was behind it so maybe this could be part of the reason.

January 23 - Taking shelter from the snow

I have absolutely no idea what bird this is but it waas briefly on a bird table taking shelter from the snow!

April 30 - Almighty

I am pretty happy with my final picture of the month. Went for a walk after work and had a lot of entertainment with one friend falling flat on her face in the mud...I know I shouldn't have laughed..but it was mighty funny. And then this sky happened....this is my second proper attempt at HDR. HDR is amazing when you have a sky like this

January 15 - From the archives..

If people don't mind, on the bad days with not much time and bad weather I'll dig out a couple of photos from before I joined smugmug. However I will edit them on the correct day.

January 22 - More snow

This sign was in front of the smallest pond ever and not sure it could really be that deep...especially when its entirely frozen!

May 16 - Deery me!

Well this certainly was a fun picture to take. Not far from me is a deer park where there is a footpath running right through it. Walking into it for the purpose of taking a photo is slightly scary. I don't know if anyone has ever come across deer on your own...but all they do is stare at you. Its rather diconcerting. Anyway, I gradually edged towards these deer. There were about 100 of the fellas. They barely took there eyes off me.I stood for about half an hour standing very still...snapping some photos. I then decided to change my lens so I bent down to my bag to change the lens and after a minute I looked up and they were all suddenly very close (5-10 metres). Slightly freaked out by this I decided to make a quick retreat. I walked towards the exit and experienced what it was like to be stalked by deer. I have never known anything like it. They decided to follow me...all 100 of them followed...trotting towards me when I walked too fast. I wasn't sure whether they thought I had food in my bag or whether I was food myself. Anyway, I did finally make it to the exit with my heart still beating. Lovely but scary time. Was it worth it?

February 1 - A Royal Couple

Its a new month and am determined to do better photos than last month. This photo is not my best but a fair amount of effort went into this. It took lots of attempts to get the perfect amount of bokeh on the queen. Lets hope I find lots of inspiration this month.

February 21 - F2.8 Cup of Tea

A friend of mine gave me this today and its amazing. A mug that is in the shape of a Nikon lens. There is nothing much to say except....thanks Steve...this is brilliant!

May 18 - Escape

This is my first attempt at this kind of PP. This is something I think I need more practice with. Its quite hard to do with something with furs and whiskers i've decided. Next time will try with a car of something. But I do quite like it. Definately something to try again.

November 28 - I'm full up!

After Millie's dinner, she will always sit in exactly the same spot, so I took the opportunity to get a photo of her in an unusual way. Not sure I like it, but its a least a bit different. All the empty space is left intentionally!

January 26 - Forbidden sunset

This was taken on the way back from work overlooking the local landfill site. Great place for photos apparantly.

March 11 - 27 Today

The statistically worst hand at poker..a two and a seven unsuited. Its also the age I turned today.

February 8 - Love

What else is there to say....

May 30 - Flower

Took this on my lunch break. I have not adjusted the colours at all. The bright green background was exactly as it was shot. I love the colours in this. This flower was miniscule, and I have no idea what it was but i liked the colours.

July 9 - A Royal Flush

Took this tonight of a royal flush with a difference. Wish I had more time to spend on setting it up and editting but don't have too much time as I'm playing squash in a bit. Have a good evening

March 5 - Today's End

Cycling home tonight was such a nice sunset and even though I had taken a nice photo of a church with lovely spring blue sky at lunch, I decided I will have another chance to take that and might not see sunsets as beautiful as this for a while.
